About Field Company

Field Company is a Brooklyn-founded cast iron maker started in 2016 by brothers Stephen and Chris Muscarella, who set out to bring back the lighter, smoother cast iron of vintage American pans. Its skillets are cast in the USA from recycled iron, then machined to a polished cooking surface and seasoned with organic grapeseed oil.

The brand states its pans contain no PTFE, no PFOA, and no synthetic coatings, just iron and oil, and backs them with a lifetime warranty. The tradeoff is price: a Field skillet costs several times what a hardware-store cast iron pan does, which buys a lighter body and a surface that seasons up faster, not a different material.
