About Caraway
Caraway is a kitchenware company founded in 2019 by Jordan Nathan, who developed it after overheating a conventional nonstick pan, getting sick from the fumes, and spending about two years building a non-toxic alternative. It makes ceramic-coated and stainless cookware, bakeware, food storage, and kitchen tools made without PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead, and cadmium.
The brand says its products are third-party tested for more than 200 types of PFAS and over 20 heavy metals, though that is lab testing rather than a certification from a named registry. Its ceramic coating is not a fluoropolymer but is still a coating with a finite lifespan, and non-toxic here refers to what is left out, not to being plastic-free; pricing is premium.
