Caraway Ceramic-Coated Cookware Set, 12-Piece
Caraway
Nonstick Ceramic-Coated Cookware Set, 12-Piece
PFAS-free ceramic nonstick with no plastic in the pans. Scores a 2 because a coating over metal wears and eventually needs replacing.
A PFAS-free mineral ceramic coating over aluminum with stainless steel handles, in a four-pan set. No plastic in the pans, but a coating is a layer that wears, which is why it scores a 2 and not a 1.
How this score breaks down

Trade-offs
- It is a coating over aluminum, so it wears and needs replacing eventually
- The exact coating recipe is proprietary
- The colored exterior finish can chip with use
- Needs low to medium heat and non-metal utensils to last
- Caraway does not say what the bundled storage organizers are made from

About Caraway
Caraway is a kitchenware company founded in 2019 by Jordan Nathan, who developed it after overheating a conventional nonstick pan, getting sick from the fumes, and spending about two years building a non-toxic alternative. It makes ceramic-coated and stainless cookware, bakeware, food storage, and kitchen tools made without PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead, and cadmium.
The brand says its products are third-party tested for more than 200 types of PFAS and over 20 heavy metals, though that is lab testing rather than a certification from a named registry. Its ceramic coating is not a fluoropolymer but is still a coating with a finite lifespan, and non-toxic here refers to what is left out, not to being plastic-free; pricing is premium.
