The world produces over 400 million tons of plastic a year, and less than 9% ever gets recycled. Researchers have now found microplastics in human blood, breast milk, lungs, and placenta tissue. The average person ingests roughly a credit card’s worth of plastic every week. We can’t recycle our way out. The only real solution is to use less.

How we vet brands
We prioritize brands with verified third-party certifications. B Corp, MADE SAFE, EWG Verified, GOTS, Climate Neutral, FSC, and others. Some plastic items don’t have a certified alternative yet. In those cases we include the strongest option we’ve found and mark it clearly on the card so you can decide.
