What's inside
The dish is bamboo and the non-slip pads on the bottom are silicone. Silicone is not a petroleum plastic and is not a microplastic source the way plastic is, though as a polymer it can release trace particles or siloxanes, more so with heat and age. Whether silicone forms microplastics is still an open question. On this dish the silicone touches only the counter, not your soap or dishes. Zero Waste Outlet does not say whether the bamboo is one solid piece or glued strips, or whether it has a finish.

Zero Waste Outlet is a family-owned shop in Washington state run by Brian and Beth.
