DISH BLOCK is a concentrated solid dish soap made by No Tox Life, a mother-daughter company in Texas. Instead of squeezing liquid detergent out of a plastic bottle, you rub a wet brush or sponge across the bar and wash. The brand says a 6 oz block replaces 2 to 3 bottles of liquid dish soap, and every size ships in a plain paper box with no plastic. The block is made from plant-derived and mineral cleaning agents: a coconut-based cleaner listed as Sodium Ester Salts, Sodium Salts, Cocoyl, plus alkyl sulfonates, alkyl polyglucosides, quillaja soap bark and sodium carbonate. Vegetable glycerin and organic aloe are added for your hands, sodium gluconate helps it lather in hard water, and sodium benzoate is the preservative. The Citrus Lemongrass version adds d-limonene and lemongrass essential oil. Nothing in the published ingredient list is a plastic or synthetic polymer.
