About Lush
Lush is a handmade-cosmetics company founded in 1995 in Poole, England, by six partners who rebuilt from the collapse of an earlier mail-order business. It makes bath bombs, shampoo and soap bars, fresh face masks, and skincare, much of it sold naked, or packaging-free.
The company is privately held and partly employee-owned, and its stated values include being vegetarian, fighting animal testing, and ethical buying. Its animal-testing stance and vegetarian labeling are its own policies rather than outside certifications, and the plastic-free part of the range is the naked line, while other products still use packaging.
