About Green Sprouts
Green Sprouts was founded in 1982 by Becky Cannon, a mother of two young girls who started it as a mail-order business run from her home in Asheville, North Carolina, and she still leads the company today. The brand makes baby essentials including glass baby bottles, muslin bibs, bath toys, swim diapers, and sippy cups, plus Sprout Ware, its plant-based plastic line. Cannon describes it as a woman-owned small business on a mission to make safer, healthier baby products that help preserve the natural world, and the brand states it eliminated BPA from its products six years before the FDA required it. Green Sprouts publishes few named third-party certifications, so many of its material claims stay brand-stated rather than independently verified. Prices are deliberately accessible, and manufacturing is in China through partners the brand states take part in an independent social-compliance audit program.
