About Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve

Chagrin Valley began in 2001 in Ida's kitchen in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, when the middle school science teacher took up soapmaking as a hobby and her husband Howard built the first wooden mold. That first batch was eight bars of goat milk and oatmeal soap, and it grew into a family company that now makes soaps, shampoo bars, salves, and skin care in its own building in Solon, Ohio. The brand states that its products are made with organic ingredients certified by OEFFA, an organic certifier accredited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and it is Leaping Bunny certified, which confirms no animal testing. Chagrin Valley describes its product packaging as nearly plastic-free and ships with paper tape and shredded office paper. This bar contains goat milk, so it is not vegan.
